How did you like my gallery
Diane Dagenais
Native of Gatineau, self-taught painter since 2005, I am reminded of the importance of family, foster families, teachers in my life both at the primary level, high school, college and during my short stay at the University of Ottawa and my experience in the federal government for 13 years. The influences of these people have contributed to the development of all my passions either to the arts, sports, social, environmental and political issues. Inspired by the local, national and international news, I am trying to freely express and convey emotions,
the questions and concerns within my paintings using various media, the love for music, nature and its seasons and architecture. My artist name is DDBella because I remember as a youngster my aunts calling me ma belle Diane.

Artist Statement
The media influence our evolution as a person and as society living at a much faster pace! That is the energy of these influences, these feelings of people I want to express freely and without judgment in my paintings! All these human energies, I choose to accompany them with music of my choice while painting and think about everything that affects me personally. So if you imagine a peaceful and zen artist... you pressed the wrong address but still take a few moments and keep reading before deciding to change the page! Indeed, the artistic process that I have chosen is not easy because I paint watching the news and listening to music of my choice! I made that choice to push myself further more to take all the senses and effects of living at a more rapid pace and all its influences! This allows me to convey all the emotions, passions and issues facing us and deal with life choices and decisions both individually and collectively. The rest is well deserved after a session of artistic expression of this kind and the new painting is also quite happy to turn to finally rest on a wall!
